Evaluation of lung maturity of kids born at term and preterm infants by sputum cytology test, Clements and lamellar body count in amniotic fluid of goats

Abstract

Rate will be the clinical and laboratory profiles of the terms and goats born premature. Will be used 24 goats, eight born at term, with 145 days of life and 16 kids born with approximately 138 days of life, by caesarean. They will undergo physical assessment over 48 hours after birth, regarding the vitality, color of mucous membranes, rectal temperature, heart rate and respiratory characteristics (frequency and breathing pattern). The amniotic fluid is obtained from all goats by aspiration, and the samples are analyzed by cytology test Clements and body counts lamenares. Blood samples are collected at birth goat, at 15 and 60 minutes and at 24 and 48 hours, in order to determine the cell volume (VG) of hemoglobin (Hb), and also the gas variables and levels of cortisol , serum glucose and lactate. Shortlist will concomitantly, the radiological pattern of pulmonary goats born at term and preterm, from goats submitted or not to corticoideterapia two days before the expected date of birth.
