Abstract

The intense process of urbanization in Brazil was mainly due to the various changes that have occurred in labor relations in the countryside and in the city, especially from the 1960s. These changes have brought as main consequences: the rural exodus and the uncontrolled growth of cities. Thus, these urban spaces were more incisive in changing the environment, consequently, environmental problems were aggravated, directly affecting the quality of life of people. The climate is one of the components of the environment that also it is subject to these changes. These changes are directly related to the mode of production of urban space and its use and occupation of land resulting. Knowing that any change in the natural environment can bring changes in the dynamics habitual of climate, then there is need for a proper urban planning's suitable to natural conditions, which could minimize the discomfort generated by the townspeople effects of urban climate. Thus, this project aims to investigate the urban climate of Londrina-PR, especially with regard to its thermal field (Channel I: thermal comfort, thermodynamic subsystem, the urban climate system proposed by Monteiro, 1976) and relate this analysis to the peculiarities of the city, ie, its shape and structure, resulting from the process of production of urban space. for this analysis we intend to raise thermal data, through sensors termohigrométricos automatic, mobile transects and thermal image analysis of Landsat 7, so as to relate to the survey of the use and occupation of urban land Londrina, and various other factors interfering with the climate such as the characteristics of relief. Thus, it is observed that the study of urban climate Londrina is of great importance for improving the quality of life in the city, because in addition to this being the second largest city in population in the state of Paraná, with about 515 000 inhabitants, has yet a large urban network equipped with different types of land use, which contribute to the formation of a typical urban climate, shows that differences in temperature and humidity, which certainly generate discomfort for the population.
