Abstract

The main objective of this research is to map the models and recommendations given to women Castilian fifteenth, especially the princesses, queens and noble ladies, to offer these prescriptions as they should guide their gestures, bodies and attitudes that were considered exemplary. Considering that, from the fifteenth century, the increase is remarkable writings presenting an image of the virtuous woman and writings in which the motto is to regulate and guide the posture of noble ladies, so that they reach the exemplarity - these texts that have been supported mainly by men and ladies Castilian nobles of the kingdom - we wonder why women begin to be represented more prominently and positively in the writings produced in Castile in the late Middle Ages. This question is justified because the texts prior to the fourteenth century, beyond the meager space dedicated to women, prevailed to some extent, more vices and sins committed by them. Furthermore, we consider that in the late fourteenth century, a noblewoman became not only a prime recipient, but is now also producing some texts for spiritual and educational. Outstanding example in reconciling the ideal Christian woman and a queen, lady of the court, as we shall see, there is, however, a little later, in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, when Dona Isabel becomes inspirational figure of chronic and treated.
