Abstract

The proposed research aims to extend the studies on apartment buildings made since 1998 by Nomads.usp - Center for Interactive Living Studies Institute of Architecture and Urbanism, University of São Paulo (USP-IAU). The goal is preliminary readings of the spatiality of apartment buildings made in Brazil by private realty developers in 2012 and 2013. The research will collect, organize and analyze graphic pieces of projects launched by real estate developers in five brazilian cities, one in each geopolitical region: Southeast: Belo Horizonte (MG), Northeast: Recife (PE), North: Belém (PA), Midwest : Goiânia (GO) and South: Porto Alegre (RS). The cities were chosen by social and economic influence regionally, and it has a process of vertical consolidated, a significant current real state activity and the size of its property market. The levy will be conducted of the material through websites of companies promoting, prioritizing the collection of graphic elements, such as plants, deployment, prospects, but also various information about the buildings, as the author of the project, location, and building area. This research is part of a broader developing in Nomads.usp on the subject of Contemporary Housing, coordinate by Prof. Assoc. Dr. Marcelo Tramontano, whose main objective is the study and production of spatial alternatives for those ones commonly used in housing design Brazilian looking for revise conventional models, making a questioning of its design in relation to the changing needs of Brazilian society: its new demographics, their ways of life and the diversity of emerging composition of its domestic groups.
