Abstract

Pain is a subjective phenomenon from a disagreeable experience related to actual or potential tissue damage, and its expression and interpretation elements involve sensory, emotional, and cultural. Chronic pain has a high prevalence in the population, presents different pathologies, and can interfere with the quality of life. This study aims at assessing pain in a qualitative and quantitative and quality of life, and secondary objective comparing pain and quality of life in patients with low back pain, fibromyalgia, and osteoarthritis. Methods: Eighty-seven subjects of both genders, aged between 30 and 60 years and will be divided into three groups: Low Back Pain (n = 29), fibromyalgia group (n = 29), and Group Osteoarthritis (n = 29). The quality of the pain will be evaluated with the McGill Pain Questionnaire, the intensity with Numerical Pain Scale (NPS), the painful points of the body with the map of pain, where it participants should mark the places where they have pain. The quality of life will be assessed with the Short-Form Health Survey questionnaire (SF-36). In the statistical analysis, the significance level is 5%.(AU)
