Abstract

The "Bolsa de Estágio de Pesquisa no Exterior (BEPE)" project is linked to the PhD project "Study of the structures of nanofibers of polyaniline (PANI) and their hybrids with metallic nanostructures by Raman spectroscopy", FAPESP grant 2010/18107-8. One of the topics of this project is to correlate the morphology of polyaniline with structural variations that occur due to variations in temperature and pressure. The period at the European Laboratory for Non-Linear Spectroscopy (LENS) with the orientation of Prof. Roberto Bini, aims to provide experimental and conceptual learning about Raman measurements as a function of pressure (up to 100 GPa), acquire experimental data of Raman vs pressure in fiber and bulk PANI systems, and open a perspective of collaboration with one of the best research centers in high pressure systems. It is expected that with these measurements will be observed conversions of segments in the polymer chains, doping-dedoping process and intra and inter-reactions, which can be detected by Raman spectroscopy. It is known that many applications of conducting polymers occurs under conditions outside of environmental conditions, this study will contribute significantly to the improvement of PhD project corresponding to the behavior under pressure of polyaniline with different morphologies.
