Abstract

As expected according to our original stipend project, we are interested in requesting a stipend for research in foreign lands (BEPE), for a period of six months (September 2013-February 2014), in order to research additional, important data in Paris. Since I have the approval of prof. Dr. Marco Antônio Siscar, my advisor in the research project "J.-K. Huysmans: a commented translation of writings on art (1867-1905)", and of prof. Dr. André Guyaux, a specialist in french literature of the 19th century who will supervise me during my term in France, I propose a research stay in Université Paris-Sorbonne (Paris IV), a renowned french university completely focused in literature, arts, humanities and social sciences. It is a priviledged site for finding new sources and for improving the research work which started in 2012, at the Instituto de Estudos da Linguagem (IEL, Unicamp), because of the possibilities for new scholarly acquaintances and cultural exchange, as well of the research center on 19th century french literature that is located at Sorbonne. It is directed by prof. Dr. André Guyaux and its library hold items of unestimable value collected by the Société J.-K. Huysmans (J.-K. Huysmans Society), an association that since 1927 aims to publicise the author and to support researches on the life and work of the novelist and art critic that lived from 1848 to 1907. (AU)
