Abstract

The objective of this project is to discuss the effectiveness of current fostering instruments for the internationalization process of companies in the creative economy sector in Brazil. In particular, the mechanisms of APEX applied to Brazilian architectural firms that present significant international diffusion will be discussed. In this study, classified as descriptive/exploratory with an empirical character, the procedure of analysis will be multiple case studies using content analysis. Besides gathering and analyzing official documents and secondary data, semi structured interviews with the units of analysis will be conducted for further phenomenological analysis. The project proposes to map the economic and architectural situations in Brazil in order to contribute with a better theoretical understanding of how today's creative economy enterprises develop their internationalization strategies, partially supplying a gap in the literature between internationalization and creative economy themes. From a practical point of view, the work aims to serve as input for other creative companies to understand what are steps and difficulties of the internationalization process, especially the role of fostering agencies in this process.
