Based on the contributions of the advising committee and on discussions with leading researchers in the fields encompassed in the thesis, the necessity of widening and deepening some points in the presented discussions were pointed out, which has been addressed both pursuing new references as seeking dialoguing about these relevant subjects with renowned researchers. The opportunity of spending a few months at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) was recently brought for consideration by Dr. Xavier Rambla, titular professor of sociology at UAB, as an important possibility for materializing the indications of the advising board. In this sense, this internship proposal aims to establish investigative linkages between the research group from UNICAMP (Observation and Descriptive Studies Laboratory) and the UAB (Globalization, Education and Social Policies), especially developing reflection activities about the social neighborhood variables that affect, among other dimensions, the academic performance of students. This should expand both the theoretical framework of the thesis, as deepening the analysis of the data. It's aimed to participate of the research activities of the host group and seminars of the doctoral program in sociology at UAB. In that way, this permanence at UAB is expected to enlarge the number of references applied to this thesis and improve data analysis, as well as construct a valuable interchange for the research group at UNICAMP, which is starting in this year developing a project funded by the CAPES Education Observatory, this project intents to promote important reflections and propose actions in the field of public policies.
