Family participation as a factor influencing the academic performance of elementary school students

Abstract

This project aims to determine whether there is a relationship between family involvement and the academic performance of elementary students. For this, we will study the medical records of a group of 30 students from 5th grade of elementary school to a public school in the city of Rio Claro, 15 students with adequate academic performance and 15 with low performance. There will be discussions of the following: parent participation in meetings and convocations of the school in 2012, notes the overall academic performance of students, the results of the Resource Inventory questionnaire called the Family Environment (RAF). The data collected will be analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively been described in relation to its absolute (N) and relative (%) by statistical analysis. (AU)
