Abstract

This study is located in the Basin river system of Pericumã, inserted in Microrregião Coastal Western and Microrregião the low Maranhense, both belonging to the Meso northern Maranhão, located in the Amazon environment. In general terms, the objective of this project is analyze the natural agents and anthropogenic processes responsible for the fragmentation of the landscape, relating them to the use and occupation of the land, through theories and concepts geosystem, Territory and Landscapes - GTP in combination with analysis techniques and tools for Geotechnology, and specifically: to identify the main factors and agents that modify and fragment the territory and landscapes; geosystem understand the dynamics of the territory and the landscape of the site over the past four decades using aerial and orbital analysis tools such as spatial and temporal determine new areas undergoing changes resulting from the activities of man over nature, and finally, to formulate information and environmental inventories georeferenced format database as a new research grant academic assistance to public and private agencies on the potential and weaknesses of the area. To achieve the objectives proposed research is described, the stages of study, exposure of the materials and procedures of ancillary data: survey and analysis of the literature related to the topic and area of research, acquisition and analysis of cartographic material and remote sensing , field activities: photographic records and application of interviews and questionnaires, measurement of environmental variables and use of software for analysis of satellite images and aerial. It is inferred that the Basin Pericumã is a dynamic environment characterized by intense due to seasonal and human activities that move the templating agents in local and regional level. (AU)
