Abstract

In this project it is presented the research proposal for Dr. Sun Yang, to be developed at the Institute of Physics,University of São Paulo. Dr. Sun is going to work on the Complex Fluids Group, under the supervision of Prof. Dr.Cristiano L. P. Oliveira, also collaborating with the other professors from that group in several projects. As will bepresented, Dr. Sun will develop his research on the studies of protein-protein interactions and protein-surfactantsapplications. His advanced skills on fluorescence techniques will permit a unique combination with complementarystructural and calorimetric studies applied to the study of aggregation behavior of casein micelles. The knowledgeof Dr. Sun will certainly contribute for the development of other research areas inside of the group like the studyof complexes between proteins with several types of surfactants and investigation of lipid membranes complexedwith DNA molecules. In both cases fluorescence techniques provides important information regarding bindingprocesses and dynamics, permitting a better comprehension of the system.
