Abstract

In this research it will investigate the drying of the facultative stabilization ponds sludge removed from Sewage Treatment Plant. The sludge will be removed by means of a "clean-pit" type truck and transported to the Sanitation Laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering of Ilha Solteira. In the Laboratory will be held the adensed and dewatering of ponds sludge, it was draining into bed with nonwoven geotextile and later will be spread in a greenhouse for drying. The initial moisture content will influence the drying time of this sludge. Thus we will study the relationship of the thickness of the sludge and drying time with the initial moisture content of the sludge. The dried sludge on agricultural greenhouse handled properly can be used in cultivars that are not consumed in natura.
