Abstract

Through the completion of this study, we propose a comparative study between two axes and commercial services - the extension of Avenida and Avenida Manoel Joaquim Goulart Constantine in Presidente Prudente - in order to verify the presence of levels of functional specialization and/or socioeconomic, associated with the concentration of dealerships selling vehicles. The comparison will provide elements to understand the logic of the production of urban space at different times in the structuring of this city. Thus, the central question that will guide the research is: What factors contribute to the process of concentration of dealers in both the extension of Avenida Manoel Goulart as the Avenida Joaquim Constantino? The search for explanations helps to evaluate the role of population growth and land in the southern sector of the city associated with the deployment of multiple lots closed, revealing the multiple dimensions of the recent trend of socio-spatial segmentation of urban space. This research joins the project theme: "Logical contemporary economic and spatial practices: medium cities and consumption", and may provide contributions to its development as well as benefit from the work being done by the whole team.
