Abstract

Genetic, behavioral and environmental factors are involved with Obesity. In this case, studies have been conducted to identify interactions between genes and environment that may lead to possible changes influencing the responses of individuals to this condition. Furthermore, Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is reduced in this predisposition to Obesity indicating a chronic and degenerative diseases. Are inexistent studies evaluating the role of genetics and biochemistry associated with HRV in individuals with morbid Obesity pre and post bariatric surgery, which is characterized as one of the available treatments for morbid Obesity (e 40kg/m2). Objectives: To identify the genetic profile (gene expression), biochemist and heart rate variability in pre and post-operative patients with class III Obesity undergoing bariatric surgery, in addition to the association of these variables with clinical and chance to chronic and degenerative; evaluate changes in nutritional status by anthropometric and body composition in these individuals. Methods: 25 individuals will be selected, divided into 2 groups: group 1: 15 patients with class III Obesity (pre-and postoperative 6 months) Control group: 10 normal individuals (d 25kg/m2). Will be held from peripheral blood samples for analysis of biochemical and genetic profile. Will be held collections of anthropometric, lifestyle, personal history and family history of the disease. The assessment of heart rate variability is performed by non-linear methods, extending for linear methods using the Polar heart rate S810i. The data is analyzed by applying T Test or Mann-Whitney Test, Fisher's exact Test or chi-square. Will be accepted significance level of P<0.05. (AU)
