Abstract

The present project aims to verify the population biology of shrimp Rimapenaeus constrictus in the southern coast of the state of São Paulo, Cananéia region. Samples will be held monthly from July, 2012 to June, 2014. A shrimp fishing boat equipped with "Otter-trawl" nets will be used to sample biotic data in 7 distinguished points (until 20 meters of deep) at a speed of 2 knot for about 30 minutes in each one of points. Concomitantly, abiotic parameters were registered such as granulometry and organic matter content of the sediment; and pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, conductivity, salinity, turbidity and chlorophyll concentration of the water. In the lab, individuals will be identified by sexes, measured, weighted and classified about gonadal maturity stage. With the collected data, we expect to determine the dynamic of structure and growth population of the studied specie using statistical analysis to verify the reproduction and juvenile recruitment period, sex ratio, demographic groups, longevity and environmental factors influence on the population biology of the studied shrimp.
