Abstract

This research project will be developed during a semester sabbatical at the Faculty of Education at UNICAMP, in the period 12 August 2013 to 11 February 2014, with a research stage at the Université de Paris 8 between November 18, 2013 and January 18, 2014. Its main object is the study of the work of the philosopher René Schérer (born 1922), professor emeritus at the Université de Paris 8. Schérer's work will be studied in the articulation of its three basic aspects: the critical notion of childhood that led him to appoint a "perversion of pedagogy", the notion of hospitality, and his theoretical vision of anarchism and its experience in our day. The three aspects will be studied in order to establish their connections with the educational issues in order to trace the outlines of what would be a Schérer's "philosophy of education". This is a research of theoretical and philosophical nature, focusing on conceptual analysis. Will focus on the central books by Scherer and on books of commentators on his work. A key focus of the research will be conducting an interview with René Scherer, as well as monitoring of some lectures at the seminar that he offers annually at that university. Also will be interviewed some Schérer's seminary students in academic year 2013-2014 and professors of the Department of Philosophy of Paris 8. (AU)
