Abstract Environmental contamination caused by the increasing use and sometimes indiscriminate use of pesticides has generated concerns about the inappropriate release of these compounds into the environment. Bioindicators techniques have been used to demonstrate the presence and the possible environmental effects of these chemicals. The objective of this proposal is to evaluate the acute toxicity of three classes of pesticides tests using terrestrial plants , radish (Raphanus sativus), corn (Zea mays) and sunflower (Helianthus annus ) and aquatic (Lemna minor and Azolla caroliniana) and effect on the emergence of the test plant lettuce (Lactuca sativa). The herbicides are atrazine, bentazone and clomazone, the insecticide will alfacipermetrine + teflubenzuron, and the tested will be a mixture of pyraclostrobin and pyraclostrobin + epoxiconazol. For the testing of phytotoxicity (LC50;14d) with terrestrial plants, will initially be sown in trays of seed germination of radish, corn and sunflower in organic substrate. After plant emergence, these will be kept in a greenhouse until the occurrence of the first pair of leaves. Phytotoxicity condition will be evaluated in bioassay and will be assessed at 1, 3, 5, 9 and 14 days after planting (DAP). Macrophyte Lemna minor and Azolla caroliniana be acclimated and after this period will also be conducted trials of acute toxicity (LC50;7d). Assessment of mortality percentage of the plants will be conducted on 3, 5 and 7 days after exposure to pesticides. For the germination test ten seeds of lettuce will be sown in washed sand containing increasing concentrations of pesticide evaluation of emergency will be assessed at 7, 14 and 21 days after sowing . With data from plant mortality and emergency will be calculated 50% lethal concentration of each pesticide. | |
