Abstract

The research in question intends to investigate the movement Brazilian LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual and Transgender) in the decades of 1990 and 2000 in order to examine whether there was an impact of neoliberalism on their main forms of organization, flags struggle and political action, focusing on the relationship of motion to the State and the market. Among other issues, we intend to discuss the elements that shaped the political-ideological character of the actions and speeches of the current movement that, unlike the first groups who started the LGBT movement in the late 1970s, has no one on his political horizon alternative project of society, limiting their claims into the State and the capitalist order. Therefore, the research will approach the Associação Brasileira de Gays, Lésbicas e Travestis (ABGLT), Associação da Parada do Orgulho GLBT (APOGLBT) and Grupo Gay da Bahia. These are organizations that currently provide political and moral leadership to the movement and that have social legitimacy to address and answer the question about LGBT. As for research procedures, we'll launch questionnaires and interviews with activists of these organizations, the direct observation of meetings and events, and the study of documents, reports, articles etc. produced by the organizations studied and that provide a concrete analysis of the performance of the LGBT movement today.
