Abstract

The present study takes part in a project related to predictive and prognosis factors in women with invasive breast carcinoma. It is the extension of the FAPESP projects 2009/17097-1 and 2009/11533-4. Introduction: Breast cancer classification in molecular subtypes (Luminal A, Luminal B, HER-2 overexpression, Basal-like and triple-negative non-Basal-like carcinomas) has been associated with a higher accuracy to define treatment schedule and prognosis. Objective: To evaluate the disease-free survival and overall survival of women with invasive breast carcinoma as related to the different molecular subtypes. Subjects and Methods: the study includes 185 women with invasive breast carcinoma whose Tissue Microarray (TMA) slides had been used for molecular profiling. Treatment for breast cancer was performed at CAISM between June 2008 and December 2011. Molecular profiling was performed with immunochemistry. The clinical data will be updated for the evaluation of disease-free and overall survival of these women. Statistical analysis: a logistic regression model will be applied to fit to evaluate the relation between the molecular subtypes and disease-free and overall survival.
