Abstract

We consider the Semiotics of Culture as a field of study of languages, more specifically languages of culture. The Semiotics of Culture is the systems of signs and culture around that recognizes that culture is generating element of several texts, which leads us to think that the context is presented as crucial to understanding the development of signs of culture as well as the processes of organization and representation of knowledge in the field of culture. The language is also an element that drives the discussions in the Semiotics of Culture. It is through this that we seek a reflection on the linguistic diversity of culture in various contexts. The question which leads us to this analysis is to know what contributions Semiotics of Culture can offer sociocultual approach the field of Knowledge Organization in order to highlight that languages are driven by symbolic elements and therefore requires attention to be able to understand the systems of knowledge organization. Therefore, we aimed to an analysis of the conceptual relations between the Semiotics of Culture and Knowledge Organization, more precisely sociocultural approaches discussed by theorists like Begthol, Garcia Gutierrez, Olson, Hjørland, Guimarães and Fernández-Molina, Campbell etc. We use a theoretical study of bibliographical. Consider how corpus research all material showing relationship with the theme of research from books, dissertations, theses, conference proceedings and journal articles. We hope this research provide some theoretical contributions Semiotics of Culture to the field of Knowledge Organization deepening the discussion of linguistic diversity to the field of Information Science.
