Deutsche Welle is a German international broadcaster which is well-known by being one of the main communication businesses not only in Germany, but also throughout the world. The organization assumes that new technologies are responsible for important media landscape changes and that is why it adapts its production and distribution process to the new needs of the digital era. In 1994 Deutsche Welle became the first public German broadcaster to go online. Currently, the company owns a multimedia news portal which is available in thirty languages. The news in Brazilian Portuguese are made by a Brazilian journalists. Therefore, these news construction is associated to a context in which Brazilian people work for a German organization, which has its own specific interests. The main goal of this paper is to develop a study about the Brazilian Portuguese portal of Deutsche Welle, aiming, by the content analysis methodology, to identify how the cultural, political and economical aspects of Germany and Brazil are presented in the news. Moreover, it intendeds to understand which are the implications that the newsroom context exerts over the news selection and production process.
