Abstract

The main goal of this project is providing the candidate with a solid understanding of General Relativity (GR). For this purpose, besides traditional texts on GR, we shall analyze specific topics which still cause confusion in the literature. Some of them are quasi-rigid bodies in GR, the appearance and definition of "hidden momentum" in relativistic systems, and the "swimming" effect in curved space-time. (AU)
