This research developed in Brazil focuses on the political career of Alvaro Tucano, one of the iconic leaders of the country's national indigenous movement, which had its heyday between the 1980s and 1990. This leader has written a book in which he recounts his life and explains not only a new look this season, as well as the implications of writing history from the indigenous point of view, both for anthropology and history, and for studies on stories and life trajectories. Stay in Mexico, CIESAS - MX, I will develop a documentary research in the archives of the Inter-American Indian Institute - located in the Autonomous University of Mexico, and a survey of the literature on the indigenous movement in Latin America, as well as perform seek an exchange with researchers Mexicans working on this issue. The goal is to contextualize the national indigenous movement within their relationships in the Latin American sphere and approximate work done in Brazil to Spanish-American discussions that address this problem, thus adding new parameters to the end of the survey.
