Abstract

This research project has, as its methodology, fieldworking at Makonde's community in Mozambique in order to produce primary references and enable observations and analyzes of Mapiko's masks (main object of the project). For this fieldwork a bond with the Eduardo Mondlane's University in Maputo (Mozambique) will be established. Eduardo Mondlane's University, located in the capital, is the largest University of Mozambique and provides historical archives of Mozambique, the African Studies Centre and the Museum of Natural History. This step is predicted to be performed from March 2013 to May 2013. (AU)
