Abstract

This project is part of a larger project entitled " Methods of Intervention in Urban Spaces of Historic Centres Case Study: São Paulo - Living Center Program." On the Research Group: Group of Architecture: Theory and Projects UNESP. This program comprises the following arrangement: Pro- Home Performance in Tenements. The Government of São Paulo, managed from 2001 to 2004, through the PAC -BID intended to improve housing conditions for the population with incomes between one to ten minimum wages of those who already lives on site. Such purposes must be stressed, assessed and verified "in loco". In this context, the present research aims: to study and analyze the feasibility of the Pro-Lar Performance on Tenements in the degree of preservation of the building and the quality of housing, through the case study building Hannah Cintra, located in the Santa Cecilia neighborhood Sao Paulo. The research was divided into four phases. In the first, theoretical approach to historical centers, intervention methods, and quality residence. In the second phase will examine the residence and Pro-Lar in Sao Paulo. In the third phase will analyze the Pro-Lar through the building Ana Cintra, its viability, the degree of preservation of the building and the quality of housing. Questionnaires to residents structured with the authors of architecture design and the charge of Pro-Lar Practice interviews will be applied in addition to technical visits to units. In the fourth stage, interview with the author of the project to meet the guidelines and the degree of preservation of the building and questionnaires to residents to know the perception of housing. Result: The research aims to contribute to studies of housing in urban centers. (AU)
