Abstract

One of the main changes observed in the landscape these days are the fragmentation and loss of habitat. These processes change the spatial structure of landscapes and directly affect the persistence of several species. The study of different matrices of a landscape is related to the understanding of the population dynamics in these environments, as current approaches consider the array as inhospitable areas, but with some species able to distinguish them and use them. A group that has importance as a biological indicator of environmental quality are the birds, and can aid in the study of permeability to be easy to detect. The National Forest (FLONA) of Capon Bonito with its buffer zone, is an example of a landscape that fits this scenario. The proposed study aims to evaluate the influence of the spatial patterns of landscape diversity of birds National Forest Capon Bonito and its Buffer Zone, featuring landscape structure, comparing the levels of permeability of patches and connectivity of forest remnants. To do so, shall be calculated landscape indices and will relate to the data found for the bird community, which will be obtained through observation at fixed points. The expected results are to understand the dynamics of bird species within the landscape, and can analyze measures of richness, diversity, abundance and evenness of species in each point relating to the type of ground cover analyzing the impacts caused by habitat fragmentation and the areas agricultural in the handling, maintenance and dispersing of these species. So you can infer about the different levels of matrix permeability and connectivity of forest remnants.
