Abstract

The use of templates for electrodeposition of nanostructured metals is widespread. This procedure changes the structure of the final product, but has little influence on the crystallographic texture of it, though. A promising alternative for a crystallographic control of the process is to use immobilized biomolecules as template, mainly proteins, and use them as biotemplates. These molecules have crystal structures that can change the electrodeposited product's texture. This project aims to study the kinetics and mechanisms of adsorption/electrooxidation process of L-cisteine and L-cistine on platinum electrode using classical electrochemical techniques and modern ones, such as spectroelectrochemical techniques and electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance. The bidimensional crystallography will be study in situ by X-ray diffraction techniques and optical microscopy with polarized light. (AU)
