Abstract Introduction : Recently, the profile of the IL28B polymorphism is important in the response of anti - HCV treatment, but in the context of co-infection between HIV / HTLV was not assessed in our midst . General Objective: To study the mutual association between IL28B polymorphism profile in patients infected with HTLV - 1 , HIV -coinfected patients and HTLV-1/HIV . Specific Objectives : 1 ) To evaluate the characteristics of polymorphism haplotype in this population , 2) List the types of polymorphism of the IL28B gene co-infection with HIV-1 , 3) Evaluation of its correlation proviral load of HTLV - 1 and the profile of IL28B . Material and Methods : A total of 450 individuals were confirmed as positive for HTLV - 1 . We note that among those patients infected with HTLV - 1 , 120 of them were also coinfected with HIV - 1 , and have stocked material for future studies . A group of five hundred HIV patients followed up at outpatient ADEE 3002 at the Hospital das Clinicas, Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo will be analyzed retrospectively and prospectively, as the request of serology for detection of anti - HTLV - 1 and 2 antibodies. A review of medical records to assess the presence of HTLV infection by serology performed in the laboratory LIM -56 . Epidemiological data are obtained directly from the guests to volunteer after reading and signing a consent form patients through a questionnaire that will be performed during medical consultation at the clinic of the Institute of Infectious Diseases " Emilio Ribas " and the HC and laboratory analyzes shall be performed from serum bank and specific collection . This study will impact on clinical prognosis.Key-words: HCV, HTLV-1, IL28-b. | |
