Abstract

The research proposal aims the total synthesis of brevipolide A (1), a polyketide isolated from Hyptis breivpes, based on a modular approach involving the coupling of fragments I-III. The lack of total synthesis and our interest to evaluate its cytotoxic actiivity as well as the inhibition of protein phosphatases by the natural product and related compounds support this research proposal.
