Abstract The wind turbines are connected to modern distribution and subtransmission systems, most of them are based on doubly fed induction generator. The technology applied to doubly fed induction generator make possible the operation in variable speed with different control methodologies. The way the wind turbine is controlled during fast wind speed transitions can influence the injection of active and reactive power. The use of the grid side converter could help the minimization of power variations.The usual operation of wind turbines to maximize the generated power is based on the fixed speed operation for wind speeds above the nominal wind speed (first wind speed that generates nominal power) and on the variable speed for wind speed below the nominal speed.Considering this facts, the objective of this scientific initiation project is to investigate efficient methodologies to control the injected power into the grid during fast wind speed transitions, minimizing the negative effects in the grid. The investigation will be performed using tree-phase non linear simulations implemented in a Matlab/Simulink toolbox. | |
