Abstract

This internship project is bounded to the PhD research "Cultural Industry and the Brazilian Rock 1980s: a comparative analysis between São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro" (FAPESP no 2012/201310). The main objective is understand through trajectory and discs, the groups set of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. As well the spaces of sociability (university, nightclubs , beaches , theater) , which fostered the emergence of these rock bands in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, built musical scenes, the same time, individual and connected to capital, and how the record labels and mainstream media were related to this musical production. The mooted hypothesis is that these sectors of the cultural industry operated in a specific way in each capital, this expressive action in unequal access to the band's music in the phonographic recording and forms of critical seizure of records by the press of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. As indicated in the last report, I believe the research internship abroad will add several contributions to research, regarding the update, systematization or discussion of contemporary literature on popular music and culture industry, and the theoretical and methodological deepening of the research object. It is get intended to accomplish a stage in London at King's College, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Frederick Moehn. (AU)
