Gelatina nanoparticles are used for the development of drugs and genes delivery systems as well as drug carriers to target specific sites in the body. There is no record in the literature of its use in topical vehicles, as cosmetic products. The purpose of this work is developing innovative rutin-entrapped gelatin nanostructures for use in sunscreens and assess its safety and clinical efficacy in the Center of Academic Excellence and Research - CBIOS, Centre for Research in Biosciences & Health Technologies, Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias, Lisboa/Portugal. Therefore, the specific goals of the internship are: (1) to evaluate the in vitro penetration rutin-entrapped gelatin nanostructures in vertical diffusion cells, using as model human epidermis, (2) to determine the safety and effectiveness of formulations through noninvasive evaluation of biophysical properties of the skin, conducted by the use of bioengineered skin product.
