Abstract This research project investigates the musical contribution of the composer, musician, actor and multimedia artist André Abujamra to Brazilian cinema, specially regarding to soundtracks composition and its articulation with the movies these music scores are made for. The objective is to approach the artist's musical path in national cinema, looking for the relation between his creative composing process, the diversity of musical influences and artistic performances variety and the perception of his musical signature. By pursuing the possibility of a film analysis from a "synaesthetic listening" of cinematographic works and audiovisual concepts of polyphony, time, movement, musicality, harmony, rhythm, and other relevant both to the sonic as the movie universe, it intends to establish the connections between music and movie languages, as well as pointing the extra-filmic links between Abujamra's music composed for films and the contexts of composition and the artist's record production. The project begins from analyzing the audio-visual conjunction in films scored by Abujamra and Costa's (2008), Miranda's (2009), Chion's (1993), Martin's (2003) and others authors' theoretical formulations.
