Abstract

This proposition seeks to analyze the current preservation conditions and the methods of reuse of the tumbled historical patrimony, pertaining only to touristic or leisure purposes of Estação Barracão, in Ribeirão Preto (SP). The specific objectives are: obtain information about state and municipal protection processes and the local agents involved in the process; verify the current state of preservation, projects of use or isolated actions (linked or not to public preservation projects, or even isolated actions from other social agents); verify the preservation politics in the city; compare the conditions and project of use established for another protected industrial patrimony in the city (Cervejaria Paulista). Studying the proposal of verifying its current use, the forms of preservation or diffusion, it becomes necessary to know and understand the public preservation politics, including the strategies of reuse. This because it is sought through them the planning of the procedures and the phases to be followed during a process of intervention in areas that are to be preserved. In methodological terms we intend to seek, at first, documents of legal protection in the state preservation organs, so that we can perform interviews with public managers and officials from the tourism and culture secretariat and the department of the city's patrimony. A previously-established guideline about intervention and evaluation of the site's touristic infrastructure will be used for the field evaluation activity. After research and data collection, the obtained results will be synthesized, evidencing the acquisitions, indicating the limitations and considerations of the study. (AU)
