Abstract

The development of advanced functional materials based on hierarchically organized structures has received great attention due to the wide range of chemical, mechanical, optical, electronic and electrochemical properties that qualify its application in various areas. In this context, layered materials are prominent due to the large number of species and matrices that can be merged, resulting in a large number of possibilities for the synthesis of new compounds with different functionalities. Considering the electrochemical area, it is observed a growing number of research works for the development of sensors with low detection limits, high sensitivity and range of detection, for the accurate sensing of species of biological interest, due to the importance of certain molecules in processes occurring in organisms. Combining these two areas of interest, this work aims to use inorganic layered materials as building blocks in the development of hierarchically organized structures that can be implemented in sensing species of medicinal interest such as glucose and cortisol . In this direction, it will be synthesized (I) hybrid materials based on double hydroxides (LDHs ) and a novel multiruthenium anionic complex derivative of porphyrin and (II) nanocomposite of HDLs and nanocarbons as graphene. The synthetic strategies to be explored involve methods such as coprecipitation, exfoliation and layer- by-layer. Materials will be characterized by a set of techniques that include the chemical, structural, thermal, electrochemical and textural analyzes. (AU)
