Abstract

This PhD's project aims on the fact that when considering the attributes influence degree of climate on agricultural soybean productivity is mediated by organizational capacity and technological level available, the different soybean global territories, located in different climatic and agricultural contexts, areas subject to different levels of agricultural vulnerability. They are addressed in this proposal from the theoretical - methodological bias geography of climate, agricultural weather and geographical concepts of vulnerability and risk, within the context of territorial impact, both in periods of severe drought, and for rainy seasons. This project aims is to analyze the rainfall variability and social-environmental vulnerability in the soybeans territories in Brazil, India and the United States, from the perspective of food security. From a comparative study and supported by climatological analyzes involving statistics and mapping techniques, we looking for, on a geographical basis, understand the specific territorial arrangements every reality. Configured and considered under the possibilities and forms of unequal access to technical and necessary to minimize the adverse and negative variability management effects, is considered that this heterogeneity gives him the character of higher or lower susceptibility breaks or agricultural deficits. Expected to contextualize the regional reality in the light of the observation made territorial arrangements and international politics in global connections. The results also integrate and contribute to research related to weather a global scale, and studies of regional climate change impacts, and geopolitical issues in the current context (strategic) related to food production. Added to this outlook preparation of a summary table of comparison, differentiation and prioritization of the role of nation states in the development and guidance of public policy with a focus on agricultural production. In summary, the thesis represents a correlation between the geographical reality climate (rainfall and agricultural vulnerability) from the national and regional context, by observation and association with territorial arrangements in each state, the climate change international politics and food production in the perspective of food security is global connections (AU)
