Abstract This research proposes to study the limits between what is Fantastic and what is Wonderful in Literature, from studies of Todorov, Ceserani and Volobuef, among others, and verify how these "genres" or "styles" realize themselves in the tales "Il malocchio" ("The evil eye"), "Lo specifico del Dottor Menghi" ("The specificities of Doctor Menghi") and "La madre" ("The mother"), written by the Italian author Italo Svevo (1828-1892), and still, if one or more main themes of the writings of Svevo like the disease, the search for the cure, the dream, the time, the subjectivity, the fear of death and the writ like way of salvation can be seen in the studied corpus, and, in an affirmative case, how they manifest. | |
