The objective of this research project is to describe and analyze the perception of the Brazilian public in relation to our foreign policy and international politics. This is part of an international academic partnership, which includes research teams' from various countries of Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico and Peru. The overall coordination of the project (Las Américas y el Mundo) is in charge of the 'Centro de Investigacion y Docencia Económicas' (CIDE) in Mexico. The international project seeks to understand the perceptions and attitudes of the public about international issues that have gained greater importance in this century and capture the reaction of society to international changes and their domestic impact. The study covers a wide range of topics (cultural, economic, social, political, security), related to international relations and foreign policy levels (bilateral, regional and global). The type of research will be 'search panel', with two surveys: a survey of leaders linked to international relations, with a convenience sample of 200 cases ; and a survey with the public, with a probabilistic sample of 1500 cases, with national distribution stratified repeated every four years. In parallel, will mount a database in electronic form, with signed articles and editorials on foreign policy, published in 'O Estado de São Paulo, Folha de São Paulo and 'O Globo'.
