Abstract

Seeking to contribute to the research of translations of classical greco-roman and the reception of these texts in our lyrics, this project seeks to inventory, study and disseminate the translational work and studies on classic themes of the poet Paulo Leminski, which, as noted in the perusal of his biography, was a connoisseur and promoter of latin language and Literature. Initially studied in the monastery São Bento in the city of São Paulo, when he was just 13, the latin language has always been present in the works of the author, thus being, a deep, rethought and revisited link throughout his literary career. The work with Latin Literary texts can be found mainly in translations made directly from the Latin Ode I, 11, by Horace (1984) and the work of Satyricon, by Petronius (1987), study object of this research project. The presence of Greco-Roman Literature in the work of Paulo Leminski has already been examined by us under the scientific initiation about to works Metaformose and Catatau. Continuing these initial works, we will deal in the masters's degree his translation of a Petronius's novel. The current scientifc study seeks to provide the improvement in the latin language knowledge along with a study of the reception of Classical Literary texts in Contemporary Brazilian Literature. Hence, by combining the training in latin language with History of Translation, our proposal seeks to combine the importance of Antiquity Literature through his literary reception in portuguese language.
