Abstract

The fungus Phakopsora pachyrhizi Sydow & Sydow is a biotrophic pathogen that has soybean plant as one of its main hosts. However, for occurring epidemics as a result of this pathogen is necessary that the weather conditions, especially rainfall, air temperature and humidity are favorable for the occurrence and development of the disease. These elements, the rainfall directly affect the spread of the pathogen and intensify the epidemic process in the soybean production fields. With that phytosanitary warning systems for soybean rust have been developed comparing the incidence and severity data of the disease with intensity and frequency of precipitation, with the objective of determining the effective spraying schemes, minimizing the cost of production of the producer and the damage to the environment through the application of agrochemicals in farming. Thus, the objective of this project is to develop and evaluate the performance of different phytosanitary warning systems, aimed at determination of pesticide spraying chemical schemes to control Soybean Rust in the States of São Paulo, Paraná and Mato Grosso, Brazil.
