Abstract

This research project aims to problematize the production of what I call vitrine subjectivities in a porn cinema, also known as "cinemão", Cine Majestick, located in the capital of Ceará's downtown. The research hypothesis therefore is that the sociability at this "cinemão" produces "vitrine subjectivities" from processes of control-stimulation and hiding-unveiling of desires that enable agents as stars, blurring the boundaries between porn star and public. From an informed ethnography based on observant participation in the aforementioned "cinemão", categories such as pornography, eroticism, sexuality, gender, body and subjectivity are challenged towards their alleged naturalizing and essentialist statutes.
