Abstract

The use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) is growing not only in the military setting, but also in civilian applications. Both in military settings as in civilian settings, one of the great utilities of these vehicles is to allow decisions to be taken. When it comes to making decisions, not merely images and textual information allows these decisions can be made more easily and even that other elements in these images can be evaluated and new decisions or strategies can be leveraged. One way to facilitate the use of these images for decision making, and also allow for better visual location of these aircraft is from the generation of mosaics in real time, allowing an overview of where and how to find the area to be flown achieved. To achieve this goal, the project proposes the automatic generation of real-time mosaics from images obtained with the overflight of areas. For development work an unmanned rotary-wing vehicle, capable of flight 12 minutes will be used. With this study it will be possible beyond the generation of mosaics that will allow the most appropriate use not only the aircraft, but also the information contained in the images, but a comparison of different types of mosaics generated and obtained from the use of unmanned aerial vehicles.
