Abstract

In the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso, families maintain themselves for long years in the government, whereas the family group was a means to access to publics funds. For example, the family Corrêa da Costa, they were in the state government since Monarchy (1822-1889) until the year 1966. Other example, the family Ponce, the oligarchy assumed in the First Republic (1889-1930) and continued in the elective office by 1961. The politicians from the state had to adapt themselves national policy, thus, in the period occurred the renovation and conservation the small groups in the power. Study the policy in the state of Mato Grosso is show the models of national policy. This research aims to analyze the local political specificity and dynamics between years 1930-1964. For this, is necessary to characterize the small groups, to analyze their singularities and to verify their relations with local political. The research question is: what were the groups what directs the political of Mato Grosso and what the differences in leadership in the years 1930-1964? The theories used the Theory of Elites and Hitorical Institucionalism. (AU)
