Abstract

The purpose of this research project is to study analytically the texts of the journalist-writter Roberto Arlt (1900-1942) from Águas-fortes cariocas, a number of chronics published in the argentine newspaper El Mundo, written in a travel of the journalist to Rio de Janeiro. Arlt, walk without course for the street searching for facts and show significant aspects, like the representation and the sense of cultural divergence. Águas-fortes cariocas have a lot of texts that emphasize the space, fundamental category of narrative. The journalist explores the plasticity that is inseparable of the aspects from cultural life of city. This project will use the space like category of narrative for analysis of Arlt´s chronics.Roberto Arlt is one of the most important journalists from Argentina in his time, but currently is almost ignored for researchers of the journalism studies. This project knows about the necessity to study the work of Roberto Arlt. (AU)
