Abstract

The multiphoton absorption polymerization technique is a tool widely used in the fabrication of optical, electronic and biomedical devices. Micro- and nanodevices with high resolution are the object of several recent reports. In conventional multiphoton absorption polymerization, the resolution is limited to around one-quarter of wavelength of the light used. However, a technique recently demonstrated shows that it is possible to increase the resolution of microdevices using two lasers systems: one to promote multiphoton polymerization and another to inhibit it. By this technique, the resolution achieved is around one twentieth of the wavelength used. In this project, we propose the microdevices fabrication using a photoinduced deactivation system. We intend to fabricate microdevices functionalized with organic dyes or even polymeric composites reinforced with single-walled carbon nanotubes. We believe that employing this method, we can obtain structures with high resolution and functionalized according to application requirements. (AU)
