Abstract The starting point of the research is to establish an associative research between written work Geografia de Dona Benta by Monteiro Lobato, published in 1935, and the possibility of his visitation to the work Le Tour de la France par deux enfants, published by G. Bruno in 1877 in the post-Enlightenment France. The hypothesis of our work is that, judging by his grandmother literacy along Lobato has contacted the work of G. Bruno because it is a classic literature for children of European and Brazilian cultural and economic elites, which endorsed Lobato. The proximity of content between the journey performed by the characters of Geografia de Dona Benta and the trip made by the characters of G. Bruno, namely the quest for exploration of Brazil and French, respectively, beyond the objective of highlighting the homeland in the context insurgent nation-state, this proximity gives us a clue to the hypothesis. The importance of the study lies in the way Lobato develops his narrative and introduces the idea of fatherland in childhood: in the Le Tour de la France par deux enfants G. Bruno uses the real journey of two boys through French territory, the Geografia de Dona Benta travel is done by the imagination of the child reader. In defense of the Brazilian author can say that his work has allowed the reader to get in touch with a world in which he felt belonging to imagine how they wanted it, and not just contact him on the spot, as did the characters of G. Bruno. Furthermore, in Lobato is the language that acquires contours instrument for thought. If the language is left to us and she can not escape, is to make her bow to the experienced. In Lobato language comes to mean us a reality never before experienced in world literature in the West, either, to allow amidst a cultural context of ratings and idiosyncrasies of the possibility of expansion of thought, involving with the limits of imagination and creation whose accepted during the writing of Geografia de Dona Benta, showed growth especially by way of thinkers like Freud and Vygotsky, for example. These placements, we"ll try: 1. Explore the relations between geography as academic and scientific knowledge with literature and writing, especially in the period between the years 1889 to 1930 language using the Geografia de Dona Benta as a work support; 2.The defense of language and written language as forming a literary Brazilian Geography and its contribution to the creation of a National Geographic geographicity in thought; 3.Explore the relations between the discipline of Geography school with the academic Geography and his contributions to the formation of the expressed thought of Geography in Brazil, within the period specified; 4. Explore and understand the relationships exercised by the influence of geographical thought expressed by school textbook Geography of the early twentieth century (1889-1930) and their participation in the Brazilian scientific geographical thought; 5. Discuss the relationship between literary and geographical languages expressed in Geografia de Dona Benta and expressed in textbooks of Geography to contemporary work. The theoretical framework used is the evidential paradigm proposed by Carlo Ginzburg in his Myths, emblems, signs work: morphology and history (1999) in calling our attention to the perception of the evidence contained in the written text that fit the identifiable reader them and decipher them, for an understanding of discourse proposed by the writer. We hope to develop an argument that walk on the path of exaltation of thought Lobato and its Geography not only the didactic importance, but mainly by the force that attaches to language and language as key to understanding and training the Brazilian geographical thought in the sense of questioning the canons of this field of knowledge.
