Abstract

This project aims to develop an updated ethnography on Kamaiurá, focusing on the gender perspective. Based on the analysis categories on the Upper Xingu and Tupi-Guarani panorama, it seeks to understand the relations between men and women Kamaiurá, its possible contrasts and the reason there are, and how power is established in relation to exclusions / oppositions. It expects to be able to investigate the participation of women Kamaiurá in social and political fields. For this study, the way ithe issues of equality, power, domination and subordination are configured will be observed under the critical perspective of contemporary anthropology.
