Abstract

The capacity to laterally rotate de inferior limb (turnout) is the most fundamental aspect of the classical ballet, and an ability that is identified in literature as a cause for injuries and technical limitations among dancers. Thus, this study aims to analyze the kinematics of the turnout in ballet dancers with different technical levels, from different learning methods during the performance of sauté movements. Dancers from different years in the methods Royal and Vaganova will take part of the study. Kinematic data from the inferior limbs will be obtained during the performance of sauté movements, which will be used for evaluating the kinematics of the turnout during the movements in the ankle, knee and hip joints.
