Abstract

This project involves the study of the new approach based on measurements recently proposed and explores its use in obtaining linear models of photovoltaic panels and in finding the point of maximum power via the conductance method. The measurements based approach will be used to obtain small-signal models for various operating conditions of the photovoltaic source. The project includes simulations of photovoltaic panels connected to DC-DC converters with reference selected by techniques of tracking maximum power using the incremental inductance method. It also includes the development of tests to obtain the Thevenin short-circuit current and open circuit voltage using the new approach based on measurements. The research will help to introduce the student in control applications and analysis techniques, and develop her skills in laboratory practices, simulation of dynamic systems and the use of development softwares.
